High School football

On Friday, DJ and I went to Jazmine's High School's football game. She is a cheerleader. It was fun to go and watch a football game. Their high school team is really good. Out of the 6 games they've played so far, they've only lost one.
Jazmine
She came up to the bleachers so we could get a picture with her.

Garrett and Maelie kept calling her name and waving to her. They really had a ton of fun.

school picture day

For school picture day, Maelie got to wear whatever she wanted. No uniform. So she chose her pink dress.

That morning we practiced. "How are you going to smile for the picture Maelie?"" Well, try to smile a little bigger. That's not your true smile."

"Whoa, that's a BIG smile. Maybe smile a little smaller"

"Now that is just right!"

The proud parents...

...of our new tree! See that lonely spot in the middle of the front yard. There used to be a dead tree stump there so we took it out, roots and all, and replaced it with a redbud.

It feels good to plant a tree. We feel like we our helping our environment. We're excited to watch it grow. We'll have to drive by and see how it's grown when we come back to Philly for the temple dedication.

Pumpkin Fun!

For our FHE activity tonight, we carved/drew pictures on our pumpkins. Mine and DJ's is yet to be carved because DJ had a raging fever and was in bed all day except for a small FHE lesson. Luckily for me, I had two of the young women over (no school today) for company. Sterling was also in bed at this time because he threw up last night in his crib and was very tired.

Busy at work.

Garrett's final product!
Maelie's final product!

Javon's final product! She was a sport and let me take her picture, even though she hates her picture taken.

Jazmine's final product! Not camera shy at all!

We had a lot of fun! I love this time of year.

Attack of the Sterling!

I was having tons of fun taking pictures of Sterling and me on my webcam.

I even got some really cute ones! And then... he found my nose.

And wanted to see my nose.

and wanted to kiss my nose...

but settled for sucking on my face instead.

Maybe he was hungry and thought I was lunch.

I was laughing so hard.

He ended his attack by trying to give me a sweet kiss.
I love being a mom!

Freddy Hill Farm

Last Thursday the kids and I went to Freddy Hill Farm.
We rode on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch.
Each of us got to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to take home with us.

Then we headed back to the tractor (hay ride) for a group picture.

Next, we went through a corn maze. The corn maze led to...

A GIANT SLIDE!

After the maze and slide, we got ice cream. It was delicious ice cream. Maelie kept saying that it tasted like sour cream (because of the creaminess). I'm sure if given the chance, she would eat a scoop of sour cream in a cone. Saying she loves sour cream is an understatement. When we have tacos, she just wants sour cream and cheese in her shell. No meat, lettuce or tomatoes. Yuck! Now back to Freddy Hill Farm...

Then we headed to the farm area where the kids could see the animals. Behind this fence is a buffalo. we also saw a pony, pigs, deer, peacocks, a lama, a goat, a cow, a donkey and a few other things.

It was a lot of fun. the kids had a ball. We still have yet to carve our pumpkins.

Advice needed!

For Halloween, my friend Jordan gave me the 'Incredible' idea to have our family dress up as "The Incredibles" for Halloween since we have the exact kid number and gender. I think it would be so fun to dress up like that for Halloween, however, how do I make costumes (for 5 people) quick, easy, and inexpensive????? I have Sterling's covered (except for the i symbol)
Should I use felt, paint, or something else for the i ? i really don't know how to pull this off so any advice or ideas are VERY welcome.
