So, here you go!
Colorado Letters:
Dear School District 20:
I think you should save room for
neighborhood kids throughout the whole year and then let people choice in with the knowledge that some kids in the
school boundaries will move in with a week to spare before school starts. We live 3 houses away from the school and
Maelie and Garrett had to bus to a different school because there was no room. I would rather my kids walk the 3 houses to
the school than take the bus where they can learn horrible things anyday. I couldn’t drive them either because Sterling
had to go to the school nearby and if I drove them, someone would always be
late because either school doesn’t want the kids there before 8am.

Dear lovesac:
Your couches we purchased are so
comfortable and fun to rearrange. Thank
you for cleaning up so easily especially after a sick child spilled coke all
over you. Can’t even tell it ever
happened!
-One happy customer
Dear Suburban:
You sit there on the lot in Falcon
all alone. I’m not impressed with your
mileage or age, but your space and price keep my thoughts on you. Why oh why?
Now everytime we load up in our minivan, I think of you and feel even
more squished. What to do, what to
do? If only I was made of $$$. Just know, you are the 2nd burb we’ve
looked at and we were able to stand firm and not buy the first.
-A tempted buyer
Dear Snow:
The first time you came we rejoiced.
The kids made snowmen and snowballs. We
went sledding (thrice), which was way fun.
We made snow angels. We loved watching you fall so gently. Deacon learned to say the word ‘snow’ from
his very limited vocabulary. The kids
even had a chance to make Olaf. BUT COME
ON!!! It’s April! STOP!
-a very snow-out friend
Dear heater:
Hmmm, I’ve never met anyone as fickle
as you. No one can tell you what to do. When it’s -6 degrees outside you choose not
to work, leaving the house in the 50s and a mama crying because she’s so
cold. But when it’s 40, not too cold,
you work like a charm. What gives? Glad I’ll never have to spend another winter
with you J
-Ciao!
Dear landscaping guy (or were you a
plumber?):
No thanks to you for coming out to ‘fix’
the plug for our sprinklers (which we’re mandated to have going via our rental
contract) and charging me FIFTY DOLLARS just to PLUG IT IN the outlet! I didn’t know it could do without the 3rd
prong. I wanted you to work for your pay,
but…
-a fuming (won’t give good reviews)
lady
Dear Winter:
So done. Enough said.
-will winter EVER end?
Dear guitar:
I love you, I love you, I love
you! You are so therapeutic and I’ve
really enjoyed playing you! I have
gotten better which makes it all the more fun.
I found friends to jam with and one to teach. Thanks for being easily accessible and
enjoyable.
-a wannabe future rockstar
Dear illness 1:
Puking up Costco hot dog and Chinese
food from Panda Express was not my idea of fun on the Eve of Christmas
Eve. Then passing it onto Denver and a
few kids. So much for my Christmas Eve
dinner and Christmas morning breakfast.
Still can’t eat. Hopefully I won’t
see you for many years. Please, next time
you visit, ask first so I can fit you in my schedule or come when you know it’s
convenient. Not on Christmas break.
-Do we have a deal?
Dear illness 2:
Fever and aches and cold knocked me
out for 2 days. 5 out of the 7 of us got
you and it wasn’t much fun. You were
very aggressive, but at least you only hung around for 6 days. I will say I’m glad you stayed away so I
could sing in the Cantata I’d been practicing
for months. But you came
close. Tuesday after Easter was a close
call.
-glad you’re gone
Dear Sally DeFord:
Participating in the Easter Cantata
this year was amazing and something I’ll never forget. Your music is amazing
and allowed me to feel the Spirit 2 hours every Saturday for 8 weeks. A huge time commitment, but well worth it. You are a talented woman and I’m so glad I had
the chance to learn and grow from you.
You and your family are hilarious, by the way. It’s too bad I’m moving and can’t be in another Cantata, unless of course you move to
where I’m going J. Thank you for sharing your talents.
-A fan
Dear King Soopers:
What a weird name for a grocery
store. Your prices were the best in
town, even though not great. You’re
definitely NOT an Aldi. Very glad you
were minutes away.
-a shopper
Dear running:
I reached a personal record! The most I had ran before moving to CO was 5 miles.
(in training anyways, this doesn’t count the ½ and full marathon I did). I finally got up to 10miles!!!! The average was 6 miles. I ran a lot of 6 mile runs. But when I started here at 7,000 feet
elevation, it was HARD! In the
beginning, a mile and a half left me gasping for air. Shoulder aches were common. But I persevered and reached a record. Not to toot my own horn, but way to go
me! However running 13 laps around a
track to make 1 mile and running 8 miles was next to torture. For those less math gung-ho, that’s 104
laps! You’re still not my favorite thing
to do, but I feel great after.
-need to sign up for a race so I don’t
quit
Dear Little Caesars:
$5 pizza on a hard day with no dinner
on the table. Need I say more?
-cheap convenience is where it’s at!
Dear blog:
I really struggled with you this
year. Had to play some major
catchup! It’s not that I don’t enjoy
you, it’s just that I forget about you.
Sorry! Plus I don’t take very
many pictures anymore, unless it’s a holiday or birthday. I vow to do better. I’m sure you’ve heard that before. J

Dear eardrums:
Please heal well for Deacon! Poor
boy. And don’t ever rupture again,
k? He hadn’t even ever had an ear
infection before you and then this? Ouch! Still in the process of healing,
hopefully no more news because no news is good news.
-a sympathetic mother
Dear General Conference:
You are awesome! I love you. Thanks for teaching me so much! Can’t pin
down a favorite because I have so many!
You also make it more fun to run because I can listen to you and stop thinking
about each step.
-a devoted saint
Dear first house:
We went on a trip to find you, just
Denver and I. We had a ball, watched a movie together, ran 10 miles together,
looked at tons of homes. Picked a
different one over you and then came back to you in the end. We’ve had our ups and downs with you and
haven’t even owned you yet. We love your
AZ room and your backyard with a pool.
Could use more space inside, but that means more cleaning. We’ve come to the conclusion that we just need
to downsize. We’ve spent countless hours
planning how we’re going to change you-for the better, of course-Don’t worry,
none of it painful.

Dear kitchen:
Why can’t you stay clean? Is it because I have too much stuff to fit in
the cabinets or is it because I have 5 kids?
Or maybe a little of both.
-Needing Elsa J
Dear upcoming job:
So excited for you to start. Ready for our LAST move. After 10 moves in 12 years of marriage (5
states (Arizona, Utah, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Colorado) and 2 countries(US and
Portugal)) we are ready to grow some roots somewhere. Because of you we can! Garrett is in 3rd grade and has been to 4 different schools. Maelie is in 5th and has also gone to 4 different schools. However, we’ve met so
many amazing, awesome, wonderful people over the years of moving.
