The St. Louis Arch aka the Gateway arch

One thing we were able to do on our Christmas break was take the journey to the top of the arch.

This is the Mississippi River in the background

To get to the top you have to ride in this little elevator thing that seats 5 people. It was a tight squeeze. It's a good thing the kids are small.

At the top. We are 630 feet above ground at this point.

The view of St. Louis from the little windows inside the arch.

The Cardinals stadium
Looking straight down

There was also a museum we went through while at the arch.
The arch was the symbol of the gateway to the west. The museum had a lot about the oregon trail, mormon trail, Sacajewia, and other Western movements. Here is a quote by and Indian chief that I really liked:
We had a ton of fun going to the arch. Because we went during the Winter there weren't too many people and we were able to spend plenty of time enjoying the top and the museum without crowds of people.
