Visitors and Garrett's Baptism

For Garrett's baptism, we had company!  Denver's parents came the 4000 miles to the beautiful Azores.

Of course when family comes, we show them the island:  Here is a view of Praia da vitoria from the Mary statue.

The beach:

Then we took them down into Praia to see some of the town.

Walking through a small garden in Praia.

The walking street in Praia.

We ate at Artesian Pastelaria, one of my favorite cafes with delicously good-priced food.

While our company rested at home, I took Garrett, Sterling, and Deacon to Biscoitos to play on the rocks.  This is one of the other islands.   Sao Jorge or Graciosa.  Both can be seen from our island, but I'm not sure which one this is.

While there we met a lady and man with this extremely tiny puppy.  She let the boys play with it.

Look at how small!!!!!

All was fine until Sterling dropped him.  Yep, nice huh?  I felt so bad. He yelped and his owner, obviously took him.  That was it.

Here are both the islands. Sao Jorge on the left and Graciosa on the right.   Very rarely can you see both islands and from the ground, mostly just from the mountain so I was super excited to see them.

Baptism day!
Garrett chose to be baptized and chose to be baptized in the ocean.

We had the 1st speaker, Denver, at the pavilion by the water before the ordinance.

The Branch came and supported Garrett.

The water was COLD.  It looked like Garrett was second guessing his decision to be baptized in the ocean.  Dad convinced him otherwise :)

Garrett was baptized on Sunday, May 26th in the Atlantic Ocean.

Great job Garrett!  We are so proud of you!

After, we headed to the church for the next speaker and the confirmation.  After we had refreshments.  It was a great day.
