Ocorrências de Outubro

October update:

Deacon is 4 months and smiles and laughs now.
Playing Just Dance kids on the wii.

Sterling had picture day for his preschool.

Soccer!  We had a busy 6 weeks with 3 kids in soccer.  Sterling and Garrett made goals this season.

A beautiful sunrise.

Maelie had a play about the constitution.  We watched it.
She also ran for Treasurer.  She did what my sister Jennifer did (Shelley came up with the idea for Jenn).   She built an ice cream sundae and each ingredient was a trait she possessed that would make her the perfect treasurer.
She won!!!!   She is the only 4th grader in student council.  The rest are 5th graders.  She went against about 5 other kids running for Treasurer.   There was only 1running for secretary, 2 running for Pres. and about 3 running for VP. We were proud of her!   I was shocked that she wanted to run at all because she would have to give a speech in front of all the kids!  She said she wanted to and stunned me.
We see planes all the time living here.  This cool jet (F15 orF16) we saw while taking Sterling to preschool.

This bread was given to us by another mom (Portuguese) in the preschool.  It is tradition for them to give bread (or something) to everyone when  there is a celebration of some sorts.  Unfortunately because of the language barrier I didn't  know what the celebration was, but the bread was good :).
Colson put these on his face and said he was an Angry Bird. Ha ha!
I am taking a 6 week Portuguese language course on base and was late to my first class because of these cows!
The good thing is, so was half the class. (same cow traffic I had)

We went to Quinta dos Acores, the company that has the BEST ice cream.  They are trying to get to the states, too!   If so, watch out!  It's good stuff.

We ate lunch there.  The food was delish! And inexpensive!  Not a common combo here.
Denver got this tasty, moist burger.  The cow was probably mooing that morning.  The company has about 300 milk cows on island and butcher cows for stores and restaurants often. It's a well to do company.
I got this. The hamburger patty is below the egg ( I love over easy eggs on my meat now, an Azorian thing). It was by far the best hamburger I have tasted.  Very good.  My mouth is watering, just thinking about it.

A small playroom for kids.

For spirit week the kids had mustache day. They looked great in their mustaches.

Sterling had a 'food around the world' week at preschool and they asked the Americans to bring fruit salad.   ??????  We did with confusion and the kids had a great time eating it.

Colson is not in preschool, although he wishes he was, but was with me so he got to enjoy the food too.
After the food, we sang and danced to American songs and then listened to the kids singing their portuguese songs.
And Deacon...a look of concern usually planted on his face.  A sweet baby!
