Kids graduations, birthdays and Pikes Peak

Ahhh! I get so behind.  So our last few weeks in Colorado were super busy!  Maelie graduated from Elementary school. She starts Middle school next year.  Here she is with her diploma and a flower.

Garrett, Maelie and Deacon had a birthday in one month. We are such lame parents and were stressed with moving plans so we didn't make cakes, but let them blow out candles from a hamburger bun. But, instead of making their dinner of choice, we let them pick a restaurant of their choice for dinner.  By the time it was Maelie's birthday celebration, our stuff was gone and for Deacon's we were homeless so we don't feel that bad. :)
Garrett turned 9!
Maelie turned 11!
Deacon turned 2!

He wasn't so sure.

Sterling's graduation day from Kindergarten. It was so cute, the best one we've been to.

They came in 2s.

They put on a nice program.  They sang fun songs.

Accepting his diploma from the principal.  Smiling for the camera :)

Sterling and his teacher (on the left) Mrs. Coleman and the teacher's helper (also the crossing guard).

Birthday presents for Maelie.

We went to Crystal Creek Reservoir for one last fishing trip.   It was so cold and all our sweatshirts were packed and taken by the movers so we ended up buying them at the gift shop right there.  It was expensive, but now we have a CO souvenir. :)

Sterling caught the first fish.

Then Denver (he ended up catching 5)
Then Garrett
Deacon and the fish.

Then I caught the next one (I caught 2 in all)

And yay...Maelie caught one!  All the kids that fished caught one. That's a good fishing trip.
Another day we traveled to the top of Pikes Peak: tallest mountain in CO Springs at elevation 14,110 ft.

It was very cold at the top.

3 options to get to the top.  Drive, hike or ride this train.  I would've loved to hike to the top, but we only lived in CO springs for 10 months and 8 or 9 of those were Winter, snowy and cold.

We took a lot of pictures at the top. It was slow going down, but a great day trip.
